It was a cold day, January 14. We'd gotten a scarce 3/4" inch of real snow... not that icy-sleet junk that we normally see a few times every winter here in the North Texas area. It was light and flaky and soft... and it made the whole landscape so quiet and surreal. Y'all in the more northern climes are probably super-familar with this, but when it happens here it's like we're on a different planet. I tried to capture that mood here.
