Have you ever lived near an oil well? A bit of a noisy thing. If like to sleep with the windows open, don't buy a house near an oil well. Of course, living near railroad tracks is worse... followed by people who have backyard roosters. I'm lucky in that regard... I usually get up before roosters do.
